Boutique hotel group Malmaison Hotel du Vin has announced that the Avon Gorge Hotel is set to be unveiled as 'The Avon Gorge by Hotel du Vin' from spring 2018.
The historic hotel is currently undergoing an extensive restoration and renovation program. The first stage, including restyling of bedrooms, is now complete.
Walls have been decorated with deep teals and navies, or adorned with intricate wallpaper designs. Stylish wooden furniture and splashes of contrasting colour have been combined with artwork that reflects quirky British humour to give the rooms a contemporary yet classic feel.
The group has appointed Josie Simcox as general manager. She previously served a number of years as general manager at Malmaison, most recently in London.
Nick Halliday, Chief Operating Officer at Hotel du Vin, said: "Over the last 12 months we have worked tirelessly to restore and reinvigorate this iconic hotel. It's been a fantastic journey - we're almost there now and we can't wait to share the full results with the local community and hotel guests, new and old."
