Dublin hoteliers take over management of two London boutique hotels

Irish hotel group The Key Collection has taken over the leases of The Exhibitionist and The Gainsborough hotels in London’s Kensington.

The Key Collection, which operates 14 properties in Ireland, is run by Dublin-based Nina Gillett and Sheila O'Riordan, who plan to manage and operate the hotels as part of their growth strategy in the UK market. The Exhibitionist Hotel is located opposite the Natural History Museum and was restored in 2015. It features eight galleries with displays of art and sculpture. The Gainsborough, close to the Albert Hall, Harrods and Knightsbridge, is a converted Victorian house named after the artist whose portrait of the Duchess of Richmond hangs in its lounge area.

The Gainsborough will undergo a complete refurbishment plan under the new management.

Sheila O'Riordan said: "The London hotel market is strong and operating two new hotel properties such as The Exhibitionist and The Gainsborough which are a perfect fit for The Key Collection is very exciting. Our mission is to provide our guests with great places to stay in fabulous locations. Our aim is to continue to explore all opportunities to grow, expand and diversify our company both in Ireland and the UK."

It’s been great to network with other people within the industry. The tours were really interesting and the conference gives you a great opportunity to find out what’s going on in the sector. After our New Owners panel, the three of us sat down for an hour and discussed how we can help each other.
