Conrad has practiced as an architect specialising in the hotel and leisure sector for nearly 30 years. As managing director of ReardonSmith Architects for 18 years, he has helped shape the business into an award-winning and internationally respected practice, broadening the project portfolio to include a full spectrum of hospitality work across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, and developing and mentoring employees as the studio has grown. He is as equally at home planning a budget hotel on a constrained urban site as he is restoring and updating an iconic heritage property and he enjoys a successful record in gaining the sometimes complex and sensitive planning consents that these require. Some of the projects which he has led for ReardonSmith are: The Beaumont in Mayfair, the restoration of The Savoy; the new Four Seasons and JW Marriott in Baku; The Grand Palace Hotel, Riga and Travelodge Waterloo. Current London projects include: The Lanesborough, several boutique properties for The Cadogan Estate and Grosvenor, The Cavendish and 50 St James’s.
