Kate Levin - The Capital
Kate Levin is general manager of both The Capital Hotel and The Levin Hotel in Knightsbridge. She is daughter of David Levin, founder of the Capital in 1971 and considered by many to have conceived the concept of the boutique hotel. Kate grew up around the corner from the hotel and spent many hours at her parents sides while they were at work so it is understandable that hospitality is second nature to her.
Kate is passionate about service and investing in her staff and believes in the ethos of "hiring the smile and teaching the skill". She shows much of her father's independent streak and feels strongly about the Capital retaining its Englishness at a time when many hotels have become more generic in style seizing a recent opportunity to champion the hotel's Britishness by bringing acclaimed seafood chef Nathan Outlaw to mastermind the in house restaurant.
Before joining The Capital Kate worked for perfumer Jo Malone, the events team at BAFTA and opened the events spaces at One Marylebone. Kate is on the board of Pride of Britain Hotels and along with her father an active supporter of the hospitality school at Oxford Brookes.
