Kym Barter

Born in Australia, Kym began his career at the award-winning Omeros Brothers Seafood Restaurant on the Gold Coast where he oversaw three restaurants and the acquisition of new sites. Inspired by the diversity of the hospitality industry Kym moved to the culinary capital of Australia, Melbourne, where he solidified his career at Crown Melbourne, quickly moving from managing multiple award-winning restaurants to director of food and beverage operations.

In a quest to journey beyond Crown, he ventured to Asia where he was the director of food and beverage for numerous five star flagship properties such as InterContinental Bangkok, Shangri-La's China World Hotel, Beijing and Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong. Eager for the opportunity to return to Australia and share his international experience, Kym rejoined Crown Melbourne as the general manager - restaurant operations, where he oversaw 20 restaurants including various award-wining destinations including Nobu, Silks, Koko and The Merrywell.

Lured by the opportunity to move back into the international arena, Kym joined Nobu Hospitality where he oversees the global hotel food and beverage operations and development of new concepts, in addition to the already acclaimed Nobu Restaurant.
