As vice president design & engineering, Europe, Miguel oversees delivery of new IHG branded hotels across all brands in Europe for franchised and managed hotels. The design and engineering team provide bespoke advisory services to IHG hotel owners and developers to ensure that all new and existing IHG hotels deliver on the IHG brand promise. Miguel has more than 30 years’ experience of advising on major real estate and design projects around the world. He has a focus on mixed-use and hospitality projects and is a leading international expert on eco-urbanism, bio-climatic design and community development.

A Fulbright Scholar, Miguel gained his Master of Architecture degree from the Polytechnic University of Barcelona and an MSc in Architectural Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also has a Master of Design Studies from Harvard and an Open University MBA.
