Rafael (Rafi) Bejerano is managing director of AB Hotels Limited, a collection of three family-owned unique hotels with outstanding facilities in London and the south-east of England. Starting his training in hospitality as an enthusiastic 8 year old in his father’s business, Rafi went on to graduate from University College, Birmingham with a BA in Hotel Business Management before taking up a food and beverage traineeship with Marriot in the USA. Rafi then seized an opportunity to spend three years travelling the world gaining a passion for different cultures and languages before settling back into hospitality in London with the Savoy Group. He then went on to become events manager for Elior UK at prestigious venues such as the Tower of London and the Natural History Museum before returning to the family fold at Sopwell House Hotel, Hertfordshire, in 2007 to head up the front of house and quality control departments. Thoroughly enjoying and flourishing in the hotel environment, Rafi enrolled on the famous General Manager Program at Cornell University in 2008 and promptly committed to continuing his career in the family business. The perfect opportunity arose in 2009 when, after many years of having London in their sights, AB Hotels eventually opened The Arch London, an 82-bedroom luxury boutique hotel in Marble Arch. Rafi took up his role to open and successfully launch The AB Hotel’s newest addition to the portfolio before moving on to his current position as AB Hotels director with particular focus on operations, human resources, sales and marketing.
