Mark Britton Jones

Mark Britton Jones brings a professional history that covers 30 years in hospitality, airlines and travel & tourism, which underpins commercial know-how for the hotel sector.
Mark has worked in hotels from his early professional life, and brings hospitality experience from the front line up to an executive level. This deep understanding of the industry has been advanced further after gaining an MBA in Hospitality & Service Industries Management from Glion Institute of Higher Education, with a final dissertation that focused on the relevance of star ratings for the boutique hotel sector. As vice-president for Luxury Hotels Group, Mark established the company in Europe with the global head office in London; the Middle East, with an office in Dubai; and Asia, with an office in Delhi. This international experience built on the market expertise gained at WorldHotels, where he served as senior director – hotel development EMEA; Great Hotels of the World, serving as global director of sales; and Preferred Hotels Group where Mark was director of sales. Complemented with a 10 year history covering airlines such as Virgin Atlantic, Air Canada and Air Mauritius, Mark has a strong international background, has travelled extensively and has a total vision of the travel industry. Mark is currently the director of Verve Hospitality, a boutique consultancy working with a network of independent business owners and hotel operators on special projects to cover strategic management, operations, sales & marketing, and distribution & technology. He is a guest or part-time lecturer at various academic institutions, including Glion IHE, and Mark is involved in sustainability in hospitality as the commercial director at Considerate Hoteliers.
