Melissa Stoman is a professional with 20 years experience in hospitality, the last eight of which have been at The Draycott Hotel in London.

During her tenure at the Draycott, part of the Mantis Collection, the property has enjoyed strong revenue growth and online visibility together with other notable achievements. These include prestigious industry awards from Considerate Hotelier, World Travel Awards and London Green Tourism Awards. These accomplishments are testament to her consistency as a talented hotelier and her ability to cultivate and lead a strong team to drive her visions forward. In her role as GM, Melissa has solidified its international reputation as one of the top luxury boutique establishments; securing it numerous accolades that reinforce this. Before arriving in London in November 2007, Melissa spent 10 successful years at Steenberg Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, working her way from receptionist to deputy GM. Her success is a result of this experience along with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the industry. At 20 years old Melissa was selected by the then MD of Mantis, Danie Malan, to spend time in Jamaica on work experience. This gave Melissa the opportunity to develop her hard working nature and passion for the industry which on her return to South Africa continued as she carved out a strong reputation as a professional, reliable and dedicated individual; the qualities she is known for today. Throughout her career Melissa has demonstrated the ability to deliver results. Her personable nature and dedication to mentoring the team around her is reinforced by a retention rate of 80% in the workplace. She is passionate about knowledge sharing and providing opportunities that allow others to flourish; a true leader.
